Illinois-native Eric Wynne and Indianapolis-area native Michael Reid have 50 years of combined experience working for a Fortune 500 insurance and financial services company, including as owners and operators of their own agencies.
In 2016, the seasoned business leaders recognized a unique opportunity to leverage their sales, marketing and entrepreneurial backgrounds for an entirely new venture. Two years later, the duo along with other business partners formed @9 to forever change expectations by creating truly unforgettable experiences, products and services that are only available through Exclusively @9.
The formation of @9 dates back to December 2016 when Wynne first collaborated with Indianapolis-based jeweler Reis-Nichols to facilitate a one-of-a-kind partnership with Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling. For the first time in the company’s 133-year history, Breitling agreed to provide four world-exclusive editions of its most heralded watch, the Navitimer, through a unique collaboration with @9. Breitling agreed to provide 1,000 limited-edition watches that are made only for @9 and cannot be purchased anywhere else.
In 2017, Wynne and Reid brought the Exclusively @9 experience to a Web.com Tour professional golf tournament for the first time. A spectator participated in a putting contest for the chance to win the @9 Breitling Navitimer watch. She sank the putt, the crowd went wild, and they knew they were on to something big.
The success at the Web.com Tour event led to a partnership with The Fort Golf Resort at Fort Harrison in Indianapolis. Every day, throughout the entire golf season, players at The Fort Golf Resort have the opportunity to win the @9 Breitling Navitimer watch – exclusively available through @9 – any time they score a hole-in-one on a designated Par 3. Players can also participate in an @9 sponsored golf outing where a golfer is guaranteed to win a Breitling@9 watch. The company is rapidly expanding with additional partnerships launching soon.
